SWABI: The Election Tribunal Swabi has declared Awami National Party’s candidate successful on a youth councillor’s seat here.

Briefing mediapersons after the verdict on Tuesday, Mohammad Ishfaq, lawyer of Owais Ali, said his client had filed a petition in the election tribunal as the age of the successful candidate, Niazullah, was 60 days less than 21 years mandatory for a youth councilor. He said the election tribunal declared Mr Ali as the winner on the youth councillor’s seat in Mangai village council of Tarakai union council.

The ANP leaders and workers celebrated the victory of their man.

BODY FOUND: The police recovered a body from Gajju Khan desert area on Tuesday.

The SHO Zaida police station said the deceased was shot from a close range as there were marks of bullets on his face. He said the body was placed in the police station for identification.

Meanwhile, a local court on Tuesday sent a teenage boy, Aman Khan, who had slaughtered a six-year-old girl in Saleem Khan village the other day, on two-day physical remand.
