DADU: An operation clean-up was launched on Sunday in the riverine areas of Dadu district, SSP Dr Abdul Khaliq Pirzado said, adding that around 30 suspected hideouts of dacoits and other criminals were demolished and torched.

The SSP told the media that 20 suspects were arrested during the operation carried out by strong contingents of police led by DSPs and SHOs. The police force, equipped with modern weapons, used armoured personnel carriers to penetrate deep into the gang-infested riverine areas including Moundar, Ismail Ja Bhan, Ketti Jatoi, Jhaloo and Aminiani, he added.
