KARACHI: A young policeman was shot dead allegedly by his brother over a family dispute in a Lyari area on Monday morning.

Police said that Constable Ismail Khan, 38, posted at Police Headquarters Garden, was gunned down in Gulistan Colony near Madina Masjid in Chakiwara.

City SSP Arif Aziz said that the policeman was killed by his brother and nephews over some property dispute.

The suspects managed to escape from the crime scene, he said.

Meanwhile, a 53-year-old man, identified as Ahmed Ali, was shot at and wounded by armed robbers over resistance near Kati Pahari on Monday morning, the Manghopir police said. The wounded man was shifted to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

In another incident, 25-year-old Zafarullah was shot at and wounded by the firing of robbers in Sector 7-D in Surjani Town, police said. He was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
