GUJRAT: The police arrested the people involved in the murder of a mother and her 13-year-old daughter in Babey Da Lahore village under the jurisdiction of the Jalalpur Jattan Saddar police.

Suspects Ansar Iqbal and Ghazanfar Gill are brothers and had previously been involved in a gang-rape case.

Fauzia Naseem and her daughter Mishaal Fatima were shot dead while they were sleeping at their home. The case was registered against unidentified suspects on the complaint by Tamseela Iqbal, the mother of deceased Fauzia.

During the investigation, Ansar, former husband of the deceased woman, confessed to planning the murder due to anger arising from her constant complaints against him and her winning custody of their 13-year-old daughter.

The police have recovered the weapon used in the crime. It was also revealed that the suspects were involved in a previous gang rape case, and further investigation is underway.

In another case, the Gujrat city police announced the arrest of the remaining two suspects involved in the murder of a gym trainer near the A-division police station on June 30.

Zainul Abedin, the main suspect who led a student group and was involved in various acts of violence against students, was previously arrested by the police.

DSP Asad Ishaq of Gujrat city circle said that with the arrest of Asad Iftikhar in Bora Piyara village and another man, all three suspects involved in the case have now been arrested.

The police have also dismantled the student group run by these suspects, which would upload videos of physical torture on college students to maintain their control and influence.

Raids have been conducted at the homes of other members of the group, most of whom are not students, and it was discovered that they come from poor families.
