NAWABSHAH, Jan 30: Employees of the Nawabshah education department under the banner of Sindh Lower Staff Association boycotted work and staged a demonstration outside the EDO (education) office here on Monday for acceptance of their demand.

The protesters were led by Darya Khan Jamali, president of the Lower Staff Association, Ali Hassan Wasswano and Dawood Ahmed Bhatti.

They locked doors of the education office in protest.

The protesters were wearing black armbands, carrying banners and placards, and were raising slogans.

They said the employees cleared in DPC were still not given promotions.

EDO Abdul Malik Lakhmir reached on the spot and held talks with the protesters, which failed. The Lower Staff Association announced that they would continue their boycott till acceptance of their demand.
