BAHAWALPUR: Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) has accorded approval to a pilot project for conducting digital land survey under Punjab Urban Land System Enhancement(PULSE) programme in the districts of Lodhran and Hafizabad.

Lodhran Deputy Commissioner Abdul Rauf Mahar told a meeting on Sunday the digital land survey would be carried out by the teams of revenue officials, who will visit the areas and computerise the land record and maps of each of the mauza and their “khasrahjats”.

The DC said under this transparent digital system the land records could be corrected, besides conducting the land survey.

He appealed the people to cooperate with the survey teams for completion of the digitisation of land record in the district.

Meanwhile, the DC asked the cotton growers not to sell their produce to the middlemen or brokers at less than the officially fixed price of Rs8,500 per forty kilogram.

During his visit to Kissan Sahulat Centre at Kahrorepucca, the DC said that efforts were being made with the help of the officials of agriculture department to ensure payment of full price of the raw cotton to the growers.

PHA: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has developed “Wall of Bahawalpur” at the local General Bus Stand.

The wall displays pictures of prominent figures of the region from different walks of life, along with their brief introductions and appreciation of their work.

The initiative is aimed at paying tributes to these personalities and commend the services rendered by them in their respective fields.

On the wall, the PHA has exhibited the pictures of different personalities, including late

Nawab of Bahawalpur Muhammad Sadiq Khan Abbasi V, actress Ms Uzma Gilani, hockey star Samiullah Khan, writer and poet Syed Masood-ul-Hassan Shehab (know for his books on Cholistan), fighter pilot Ms Aisha Umar and veteran orthopedic surgeon Dr Tahseen Cheema.

The wall was inaugurated by South Punjab housing and urban development Secretary Kaiser Saleem, who lauded the PHA initiative.
