QUETTA: Two members of Levies force were gunned down by unknown armed men in two different incidents at Chaman, a town near the border with Afghanistan, on Monday.
The banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for one of the shootings.
In the first incident, assailants riding motorcycles shot at Rehmatullah while he was on his way home after work. He died instantly.
Police rushed to the scene and shifted the body to hospital.
“The deceased received a volley of bullets with an automatic weapon, which caused his instant death,” a doctor said. Police termed the incident a case of targeted killing.
An hour later, another Levies man was shot at while he was going to Chaman’s Killi Ahmed Shah Khan area to serve a summons issued by the force.
Samiullah Kakar received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot.
Police shifted his body to hospital and later handed it over to his family after completing medico-legal formalities.
