MARDAN: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader and former state minister Ali Mohammad Khan was re-arrested under 3-MPO (Maintenance of Public Order) soon after getting bail in a corruption case granted by a sessions court here on Tuesday.

He was asked to submit surety bonds of Rs200,000 before getting bail.

A legal team led by Riaz Khan Paindakhel and Jawad Khan along with their client appeared before sessions judge Inamullah Khan in connection with the corruption case to seek bail.

After the hearing, the judge granted bail to Ali Mohammad and issued order for his immediate release.

However, his lawyer Paindakhel told Dawn that they took the release order to the Mardan jail to get the former lawmaker out of the prison, but the police personnel there informed them that Ali Mohammad had been re-arrested under 3-MPO for one week on the orders of the Mardan deputy commissioner.

Ali Mohammad has been behind the bars for his alleged involvement in anomalies in developmental projects and illegal recruitments.
