SARGODHA: The government has approved the establishment of two boys’ degree colleges in Sargodha district, according to sources in the education department.

These colleges are being established in Sargodha and Bhalwal and a summary for the establishment of the colleges was sent to the authorities.

HEPATITIS: A survey on hepatitis diagnosis revealed more than 100,000 residents in Sargodha district are affected by jaundice.

To combat the spread of the disease, a critical step must be taken: the establishment of a blood scanning plan at the union council level.

This was said by philanthropist Dr Zahid Iqbal during the inauguration of a potable water unit for the public in Phularwan, Bhalwal, 40km from Sargodha.

He highlighted the hazardous consequences of using unclean water extracted from the ground, which has become unfit for consumption, leading to the rise of diseases like hepatitis.

Calling upon fellow philanthropists, Dr Iqbal appealed for cooperation with the administration to provide clean drinking water to the community.

He stressed the importance of raising awareness about liver diseases on this occasion. He demanded measures, including establishment of diagnostic centres at the union council level.

The World Hepatitis Day will be observed on July 28 across Pakistan.

DROWN: A 14-year-old student of Jamia Rehmania Chandni Chowk, Istaqlalabad, drowned in Lower Jhelum Canal.

Rescue 1122 continued the search operation and succeeded in tracing the dead body near 90 NB stop.
