HYDERABAD, Jan 31: The EDO, health, Nazar Mohammad Junejo, has said more than 300,000 children up to five years of age have been vaccinated during the anti-polio campaign from Jan 24 to 26.

In his progress report about the campaign, he said vaccination in special cases was in progress in the district

He said that in addition to the anti-polio campaign, special teams had been constituted to educate people about using safe drinking water, preventive measures against hepatitis, tuberculosis and other epidemic diseases and avoiding use of plastic bags. He said the teams would also warn people about the practice of quacks.

He said lady health visitors engaged in the anti-polio campaign were being paid salaries through their bank accounts and other participants of the campaign were also being paid remuneration under supervision of special monitoring teams. He said the anti-polio campaign was being monitored by open and secrete teams with a view to maintaining polio free status of Hyderabad.
