ISLAMABAD: Under the directives of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, the capital police have installed 50 new high-tech cameras from the high-security zone up to the airport, a police public relations officer said.

He said the installation of these cameras aimed to bolster the monitoring of routes from the airport to the high-security zone.

City Police Officer (CPO) Dr Akbar Nasir Khan emphasised that the capital police were fully committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the citizens.

`The installation of these new cameras is a crucial step towards maintaining law and order, effective monitoring and safeguarding the peace of the city,` he said.

Dr Khan further said the high-te ch cameras would be strategically positioned to cover critical areas in order to enhance the overall surveillance network.

`I urge citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious objects or activities they may come across. In the interest of public safety, the police have made it easy to report such incidents by calling the emergency helpline Pukar-15,` he said.
