RAWALPINDI: Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi is setting up a grand nursery to provide plants to citizens at affordable rates and to generate more revenue.

According to the PHA spokersperson, the authority had kicked off the monsoon plantation drive.

PHA Director General Ahmed Hasan Ranjha launched the campaign by planting a sapling in Liaquat Bagh.

The plantation campaign was launched by the authority in collaboration with a private organisation and a school. Children from different schools also participated in the campaign and planted saplings in the park.

The director general said the Parks and Horticulture Authority was striving to make Rawalpindi city clean and green. He also said despite the financial constraints, the PHA was working hard to make the city green.

He said the PHA would plant more ornamental and colour ful plants in Murree to enhance the beauty of the hill station.
