RAWALPINDI: A delegation of the British Department for Transport (DfT), a security agency, arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday.
The British delegation’s visit was in the context of the recent approval of the Pakistan Civil Aviation bill and Pakistan Airports Authority bill.
A spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said that Peter Robinson is head of Aviation Security Support at Aviation Security International Operations.
This legislation was enacted by Pakistan following a request from international aviation circles including the United Kingdom
Peter Robinson will meet the CAA administration along with the CAA director general in Islamabad on Wednesday (today). Mr Robinson will also meet the Civil Aviation deputy director general regulatory and will also visit the Islamabad International Airport on Thursday.
His visit also includes a meeting with the Secretary Aviation in the Aviation Division. The meetings will discuss the draft formal contacts. The spokesman said that apart from this, provision of aviation security assistance to Pakistan through training, support and equipment will also be considered.
