HYDERABAD: Indus continued to be in a state of medium flood at Guddu and Sukkur barrages. The flows were also gradually increasing at Kotri barrage on Thursday.

Guddu and Sukkur barrages were having a flow of 433,917 cusecs upstream and 400,391 cusecs downstream at 6am on Thursday. Sukkur barrage had recorded a discharge of 430,286 cusecs upstream and 384,886 cusecs downstream. Kotri barrage was recording a discharge of 211,181 cusecs upstream and 172,256 cusecs downstream this morning.

Tarbella recorded an outflow of 155,300 cusecs. Flow at Panjnad had increased also with a downstream discharge of 110,928 cusecs. These flows also enter Indus river for heading to Sindh.

The flows at Guddu barrage at 6pm was recorded at 418,977 cusecs and 389,215 cusecs downstream while at Sukkur it was 430,286 cusecs upstream and 384,886 cusecs downstream. So, Guddu and Sukkur were still in a state of medium flood.

According to an official, Abdul Aziz Soomro, Sukkur barrage would be normalised after a few days. The flows downstream Tarbella have also declined.

Flows at Kotri barrage have increased and the barrage had attained a low-flood status. The water flows at Kotri barrage was recorded at 211,187 cusecs and 172,256 cusecs downstream. According to Kotri barrage chief engineer, the barrage has attained a low-flood status and it would attain a medium-flood stage around Aug 9.
