TAXILA: Another senior lawyer was subjected to an attempted murder following the killing of two lawyers within the span of one month in Attock district.

Former justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) Mohammad Basheer Paracha was targeted in Attock on Sunday evening by two masked persons riding a motorcycle when he was heading towards his house.

The armed men fired three bullets at the lawyer which did not hit him. Soon after the incident, police reached the crime scene to collect evidence.

Chairman Disciplinary Committee and Member Punjab Bar Council Malik Israr Ahmad said Attock had become the most dangerous district in Punjab due to the indifferent attitude of the police who failed to protect the legal community from outlaws.

Meanwhile, Punjab Bar Council, the Supreme Court Bar Association and District Bar Council have condemned the attack on their colleague and called upon the inspector general of police and the regional police officer to take action against the negligent police officials in the district.
