CHARSADDA: Unknown miscreants lobbed a hand grenade onto the office of DSP Shabqadar, damaging the building. However, no loss of life was reported, officials said.

They said the newly-appointed DSP Gul Sheed had assumed charge of his office a few hours before the attack.

The police started a search operation to track down the attackers.

Meanwhile, a man and his wife were killed and three others, including his second wife, a son and the driver, were injured when assailants opened fire on a moving car in Sardheri area here on Friday.

The police said that the deceased, Suleman, who had three wives, was going in the car along with his two wives and a son, when the vehicle came under attack near Islamabad Koroona area of Sardheri.

As a result, Suleman and his wife, Rukhsar Begum died on the spot, while his second wife, Elhaam Begum, the son and the driver were injured.

The police registered a case on the complaint of Suleman’s third wife, who nominated her brother for the double murder. The motive behind the incident was stated to be a land dispute.

The police registered a case and started further investigations.
