SARGODHA: The University of Sargodha (UoS) on Friday signed multiple intents of cooperation with esteemed international institutions to mark a significant step towards fostering knowledge exchange, academic collaboration, and mutual growth on the global scale.

It has signed accords with two Chinese universities to enhance collaborations at the international level.

The UoS has signed an intent of cooperation with the Liaoning Communication University, China. This collaboration entails academic exchanges, faculty cooperation and joint research, fostering diverse perspectives and a cross-cultural academic environment to enhance both institutions’ educational offerings.

Furthermore, the UoS also extended its global outreach by forging a collaborative bond with the Shenyang Urban Construction University, China. This partnership aims at synergising efforts in establishing joint campuses on both sides.

The intent of cooperation outlines faculty exchanges, collaborative research projects, and potential joint degree programmes to address the challenges posed by rapid urbanisation and architectural evolution.

Another agreement was signed between the University of Sargodha (UoS) and the International Special Economic Zone (Pvt) Ltd. This strategic partnership aims at bridging the gap between academia and industry, fostering research and development initiatives.

The intent of cooperation is to establish a tech zone, economic zone, and Citrus Processing Unit at the UoS to promote practical exposure and industry-aligned skills among the students and regional communities.

Speaking about these collaborations, UoS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas said: “These intentions of cooperation mark a new chapter in our journey of academic excellence and fostering global partnerships. By joining hands with these esteemed international institutions, we are expanding the horizons of knowledge for our students and contributing to the global educational landscape”.

The partnerships are expected to promote cultural exchange, sharing academic resources and innovation through collaborative research initiatives, he added.
