LAHORE: Though the Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) is yet to be registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and get its election symbol, it has flung into action to complete its organisation soon after announcement of the caretaker prime minister.

IPP General Secretary Aamir Mehmood Kiani has issued a notification, nominating divisional office-bearers of the party for Lahore, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Sahiwal.

Former Punjab minister Murad Ras and Mian Khalid Mahmood have been nominated as the president and general secretary, respectively of Lahore division.

Sardar Ilyas Tanveer, ex-AJK prime minister, has been nominated as party president for the Jammu & Kashmir chapter.

Meanwhile, IPP central president Aleem Khan has welcomed and greeted Anwarul Haq Kakar.

IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen has also welcomed Mr Kakar’s nomination.
