LAHORE: The capital city police officer (CCPO) has issued directions to the police officers concerned for the arrest of the two stage dancers banned by the home department for making unethical gestures during performance of plays at Alhamra.

The Civil Lines police lodged a case against the actresses, Shama Rana who performed in the play Chaand Ki Chandni and Payal Chaudhry who worked in the play Naukar Wohti Da. They were accused of committing obscenity and sharing vulgar jokes during the plays.

Minister for Information and Culture Amir Mir had taken notice and issued orders to ban both the dancers from performing on stage across Punjab after the videos of both the dancers got viral on social media. On his order, the Lahore Art Council had put a ban on the actresses.

A police official said the investigation police were working to trace and arrest the actresses.
