DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday opened the registration process for fans to buy tickets for the World Cup, set to be staged in India from Oct 5 to Nov 19.

Registering for the tickets of the 50-over showpiece will enable fans to “receive on sale news first” before the sales start on August 25, the ICC said in a press release.

The tickets will go on sale in phases, with those for all matches not involving India to be made available first.

From Aug. 31 to Sept. 2, fans will be able buy tickets for India’s games at the remaining venues excluding those scheduled for Ahmedabad — where the hosts will take on archrivals Pakistan on Oct. 14 — for which the tickets will be available from Sept. 3.

The tickets for the semi-finals and finals of the tournament will go on sale on Sept 15, the ICC said.
