ISLAMABAD: The Pa­­kistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has decided to extend the date of Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2023.

The test will now be held on September 10 (Sunday). Earlier it was scheduled for August 27.

The decision has been made on the directions of the Federal Secretary Health Iftikhar Shallwani.

MDCAT 2023 will be conducted nat­ionally and international­ly through Admitting Univ­ersities of all Provinces, Islamabad and Gilgit Balt­i­­stan. The paper-based exam will be conducted simultaneously at all centres/venues.

Bolan University of Medical and Health Scien­ces will conduct the exam in Quetta. Jinnah Sindh Medical University in Ka­­rachi, Shaheed Benazir­ab­­ad and Larkana. Khyber Medical University Pesha­war will conduct test in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Kohat, Bannu, D.l. Khan, Abbottabad, Swabi and Malakand.

Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University will conduct tests in Islam­abad, Muzaffarabad, Mir­p­­­­­ur, Rawalakot and Rawalpindi.

University of Health Sciences will hold test in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sial­kot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Gujrat.

Moreover, Shaheed Zul­fiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University will hold the test at international venues i.e. Riyadh and Dubai.

The MDCAT result 2023 of one province shall be valid for the entire country. Currently over 200,000 candidates have registered themselves for the test.

As the date of MDCAT has been extended the PMDC may open the registration for a day or two, sources told Dawn.
