SWABI: The man was killed and his daughter was injured when unidentified armed men opened firing on his car here on Thursday.

The widow of Sherzamin Khan, a resident of Galu Dheri, told police that unidentified persons opened firing on their car when they were on way home. She said that her husband Sherzamin Khan was killed in the attack as he was hit by several bullets in chest while her daughter was seriously injured.

The woman said that she along with a young daughter remained unhurt in the attack. City police station registered an FIR against unidentified assailants and started investigations.

JUI-F: Maulana Fazal Ali, the central deputy chief of Jamiat Ulama-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) said here on Thursday that his party would sweep the upcoming general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Talking to journalists, he said that they were quite hopeful that they would form the next government in the province. He said that they had already told their office-bears and workers to start mass contact campaign and inform voters about the party policy.

About an alliance with other parties, the JUI-F leader said that it depended on the circumstances. He said that preparations for polls by Election Commission Pakistan were under way.
