PESHAWAR, Feb 2: All-Pakistan Chief Minister Cup hockey will commence at the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium from April 29. This was decided in a meeting of NWFP Hockey Association presided over by its president Malik Mohammad Saad Khan on Thursday.

All top teams from the country would take part in the event. It decided to hold Inter-club championship in all district from Feb 10 to 15 and Inter-club regional championship from Feb 16 to 19 and Inter-club provincial hockey championship from Feb 20 to 25, in which seven victorious regional teams would participate.

Later, the provincial champion team would take part in the Inter-club national championship to be held in Faisalabad from Fed 27 to March 7.

The meeting was informed that teams from Malakand, Mardan, Peshawar, Hazara, Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan would take part in the preliminary round of the national championship to held from March 18 to 24 in Islamabad.

Before this event inter regional tournament would be held in Peshawar to prepare teams for the national event. It said that six successful teams at the National Championship would participate in the 53rd National Championship to be held from March 27 to April 2 in Lahore.

The meeting also gave go-ahead signal to a match between the Afghanistan hockey team and district Buner.
