ISLAMABAD: The capital police booked Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) UK-based supporters and others under separate charges, including Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), for chasing and maligning a judge who had convicted former prime minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.

A case was registered with Ramna police station under ATA against Shayan Ali, Sarah Mir, Imran Khalil and Adil Farooq Raja in response to a complaint lodged by a resident of G-11 Markaz, Nasir Iqbal.

According to the FIR, the complainant saw a few video clips posted on social media by a person, who identified himself as Shayan Ali, a resident of Lahore with current residence in Middlesex, in which he said that he would make the life of the judicial officer hell in UK where he was undergoing training at an educational institution.

Another clip, recorded at the airport terminal, shows Shayan Ali and his team holding a placard inscribed with the judge’s name, threatening to the ‘traitor’ judicial officer to account, it added.

They also vowed to chase the judicial officer to the educational institution where he was attending official training, the FIR said, adding that Ali also called on other Pakistanis to join him in this regard.

In the fourth video, Ali was claiming that a case had been registered against the judicial officer whereas in the fifth video clip, judicial officers were shouted at.

The security officials prevented physical attack on the judicial officer and a very dangerous situation was created by Ali, his team and other protesters, especially Sara Mir Gilgati and Imran Khalil, who claimed to be a PTI leader in the United Kingdom by not confining themselves to the designated areas for a peaceful protest the FIR said, adding that Imran Khalil also claimed to have made reservation in Holiday Inn, Marina Hall to terrorise the judicial officer.

Adil Farooq Raja, resident of Chesham, UK, joined the activities and also aided and abetted the terrorist activators of Ali, Mir and Khalil and others, the FIR said, adding that these actions by Ali, his team and others were designed to coerce and intimidate the Pakistani authorities, especially judicial officers, to force them to discharge their lawful duties in a certain way for the benefit of a political party.

Public servants and judges were terrorised and dangerous circumstances were created for them for the purpose of terrorism, the FIR said, adding that Ali and his team as well as others were directing activators connected with the commission of such offences, for the purpose of terrorism.
