The people who lost their lives included a man, his wife and two children. Besides, another 60-year-old man also lost his life.

Police officials said the deaths occurred after a fault was developed in a transformer in Ward 8 of the eastern area of Dera Murad Jamali.

On being alerted, police officials rushed to the site and shifted bodies to the district hospital. “We have received five bodies, including woman, who were electrocuted,” hospital officials said.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Hayee Sheikh, wife Bibi Shabiha, two sons Hafiz Abdul Qayyum, Hafiz Muhammad Azim, and Muhammad Ayub, 60.

The bodies were handed over to the heirs after the medico-legal process.

Meanwhile, a tribesman was killed and two others were injured in an armed clash between two groups of Lehri and Rind tribes over a small dispute in the Manjho Shori area of Nasirabad.

Police said armed men of both groups used automatic weapons against each other, resulting in the killing of one man who was identified as Sher Muhammad Lehri.
