ISLAMABAD: Two women were allegedly gang-raped in separate incidents in the capital, police said on Saturday.

In the first incident, a university student approached the capital police and got a case registered against five suspects, who she alleged abducted, raped, blackmailed and also extorted money and valuables from her.

She also claimed that they recorded a video of the incident and released it on social media.

The case was registered with Shahzad Town police station.

According to the police, one of the suspects nominated in the FIR was the girl’s class fellow and hailed from the same town as the victim.

Due to this acquaintance, they were in contact on WhatsApp and also assembled in the university’s canteen for tea, police said, adding that about six months ago, a relative of the class fellow also came to the university and they all made a plan for an outing together.

Two more persons joined the girl, her class fellow and his relative at the parking area of the university and left from there in a car at noon, police said, adding that packets of juice were distributed among all occupants of the vehicle.

After drinking the juice, the girl fell unconscious and when she regained her senses, she found herself naked in a room of a house.

Later, her class fellow told her that they had raped her and also recorded a video of the incident, which he showed it to the girl.

He asked her to keep silent and threatened to make the video viral on social media, police said.

Later, the group left the house in the afternoon, which was located in Tarlai Kalan, the police said, adding that her class fellow and his relative started blackmailing her and during this period raped her several times.

Besides, they also made her steal cash and valuables, including gold ornaments, from her house.

The police further added that the class fellow and his relative sent the objectionable video to one of their acquaintances who shared it on social media after she refused to accompany them outside the city on a trip.

The girl brought the issue to the knowledge of her parents, which led to the registration of a case and the police initiated legal proceedings.

In another incident, a case was registered with Humak police station against four suspects accused of raping a girl in Rawat area.

According to the police, one of the suspects nominated in the case called the victim to his house by saying that his wife wanted her assistance over some issue.

When she went there, she found four persons inside the house who then raped her and later set her free.

The girl requested the police to get her medical examination carried out to confirm the assault.
