LAHORE: The Punjab cane commissioner has directed the owners and general managers of 42 sugar mills in the province to provide the detail of sugar stocks sold but not lifted by the dealers and brokers by 11am on Tuesday.

The cane commissioner also made it clear that any wrong information will entail criminal proceedings.

It is learnt that the commissioner had also sought that the sugar mills should provide their cost of per kilogram sugar but no mill provided the information maintaining that the Punjab government could not fix sweetener price as it was a federal subject.
