LAKKI MARWAT: Four people, including a passerby, were killed and two others injured when gunmen opened fire on their rivals during a weekly fair in Landiwah area of Lakki Marwat district on Wednesday, the police said.

Dadiwala police station officials said the victims had come to the fair where they were attacked by their rivals.

A complainant, Noor Ali Shah, 67, told the police that he along with his sons and nephews was in the fair when their rivals, Nasseb Khan, Qismat Khan, Naimat, Imran and Namoos, came there and opened fire, killing one of his nephews, Hashim Khan, 40, and a passerby, Mohammad Mir, 65, on the spot. He said his son, Haji Misal Khan, and another nephew, Iftekhar, were critically injured.

Noor Ali said the injured were taken to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in Bannu, where they succumbed to their injuries. He said two other passersby, Mohammad Ilyas and Liaqat, were also injured in the firing, and shifted to a hospital in Naurang town.

The complainant said they had a money dispute with the assailants.

The police said the attackers were brothers, who also belonged to Landiwah area.

The police registered a case against the suspected killers.
