DERA MURAD JAMALI: A powerful landmine blast on Wednesday left a motorcyclist seriously injured in tehsil Lehri.

Official sources said that unknown miscreants had planted the landmine on the road in the Kach area of tehsil Lehri. As Sikandar Talani’s motorcycle ran over the landmine, it exploded, seriously injuring him and destroying his motorcycle.

Police rushed to the area and shifted the injured to Sibi district hospital. Police launched a search operation in the area after the incident and further investigation was under way.

Meanwhile, two people were killed and 19 others injured in two traffic accidents in Bolan and Nasirabad districts on Wednesday.

The first incident took place when a wagon carrying passengers from Gandawah to Jacobabad overturned due to speeding.

The accident left one person dead and 16 passengers injured. The body of the victim and the injured passengers were taken to Dera Murad Jamali district hospital.

In another incident, one person was killed and three other people were injured when a speeding passenger coach hit a vehicle on Quetta-Sibi Highway near Mach.
