KARACHI: A young man was killed and two others were injured when a signboard installed at an underpass in Nazimabad collapsed and fell on them on Monday, police said.

Nazimabad SHO Shahid Khan said that the three persons were riding motorbikes when the signboard of the Mohsin Bhopali underpass fell on them.

They were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where one of them, identified as Amir Husain, 35, died during treatment. He said that the others were discharged after first aid.

The police claimed that the board was apparently installed by civic authorities as it contained the name of the underpass. It might have fallen due to weak structure, they added.
