LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) on Tuesday suspended a Shahalam subdivision official from service.

Also, the deputation of his superior, the sub-divisional officer (SDO), was cancelled, resulting in his reassignment to the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company.

The action was taken when a fire outbreak in a transformer at Shahalam Market a few days ago. The incident resulted in injuries to several pedestrians, says company’s spokesperson.

The officials subject to disciplinary action include Mirza Ghazanfar (feeder in charge) and SDO Ahsan Jahangir.

Simultaneously, Lesco’s Okara circle detected electricity theft in the Renala Khurd locality. The teams levied charges on the offenders, estimating their electricity theft at over 4,000 units.

OPERATION: LDA teams regained control of 10 plots owned by the authority.

The reclaimed plots bear the numbers 370, 340, 341, 345, 346, 328, 396, 403, 321, and 322 in Johar Town.

A spokesperson said that following an inquiry by the Anti-Corruption Establishment, the ownership of file No NB1/187 was exposed as fraudulent. Consequently, authorities took necessary action to reclaim the plots. Notably, each of these plots spans one kanal.
