KARACHI: Tanvir Ahmad, veteran journalist and former assistant editor of Dawn, passed away on Wednesday evening. He was 83.
His family said that he was unwell for the past many months due to multiple complications and kidney related issues.
He is survived by a widow and two daughters.
The funeral prayers will be offered at Jamia Masjid Baitus Salam, DHA Phase IV, on Thursday (today) after Zuhr. He will be laid to rest at the DHA graveyard in Phase VIII.
He retired from Dawn in 2013 after spending more than 40 years in journalism. Earlier, he worked for a number of publications, with his longest stint at the evening newspaper, Daily News.
