INFLATED BILLS: The example of K-Electric (KE) is now that of a raging bull out to shatter everything regardless of the consequences. All the residents of Karachi are at the mercy of this uncontrollable bull that is out to beat them into submission or to death. Every month, KE issues inflated bills along with a litany of taxes. People can no longer afford to pay these monthly hefty electricity bills. The government should rein in KE because if that is not done, people will keep banging their heads for God knows how long. There is sheer panic among the people these days, which may even lead to anger and, perhaps, public display of that anger.

DRUG ABUSE: Almost the entire province of Balochistan seems to be in the grip of drug abuse. The situation has reached to a point where drug peddlers are seen openly selling drugs to young- sters. The drug mafia has put the youth of the province at stake, and has been busy poisoning future generations.
The provincial government needs to step forward to root out this menace.

FREELANCERS STRUGGLING: Freelancers remain one of the disadvantaged segments in the job market across the country. The community has been struggling to have a proper channel to bring in its hard-earned dollars. Now, they are even unable to earn a living through various social media platforms. Moreover, the exclusion of Pakistani authors from Amazon Kindle publishing platform has also added a few worries. Pakistan needs to introduce inclusive policies at the earliest.

ENDLESS WAIT: There are hundreds of candidates waiting for the results of various examinations conducted by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) since 2022. The wait seems to be endless. The irony is that the SPSC is continuing to hold examinations for various posts without clearing the backlog.
