SARGODHA: A class-VIII student was allegedly beaten by his teacher for not informing him of his absence from school. The teacher also kept the student standing in the sun for two hours.

According to sources, Sheharyar, a student at Government High School Muhammadwala, was allegedly tortured by his class teacher Mohsin Dhudi.

The student was taken to the hospital when his condition worsened. His uncle, Sardar Ali, filed a complaint with the police against head master Umer Sher Khokhar and teachers Mohsin Dhudi and Akhtar Wattoo.

Ali alleged that his nephew was beaten because he did not bring milk for the teachers and had skipped school.

Ali also filed a complaint with the Sargodha district education officer. The DEO ordered an investigation into the matter and asked for a report within three days.

WORKSHOP: The University of Sargodha (UoS) organised a one-day training workshop for non-teaching staff on Thursday.

The workshop aimed to provide staff with comprehensive training on rules and regulations, and professional responsibilities.

Speaking at the workshop, UoS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas stressed the importance of teamwork and dedication in elevating the university’s status in Pakistan.

He highlighted the vital contributions of non-teaching staff to the university’s success and said that these training initiatives align with the university’s vision of fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

He stressed the need to equip staff with technological skills and knowledge that would foster university productivity and innovation.

In the second session of the workshop, Registrar Waqar Ahmed, Controller of Examinations Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Prof Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, Additional Treasurer Anwarul Haq, and Director IT Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas delivered training lectures on relevant laws, regulations, obligations, and professional ethics.
