DERA MURAD JAMALI: A tractor driver was injured in a landmine explosion while working at a water supply scheme funded by the World Bank in the Sibi area of Balochistan on Thursday.

Officials said the tractor was carrying some construction material for a water supply scheme in Khajak Daman area during which it was hit by a landmine planted by unknown people, injuring the driver.

Following the landmine explosion, police promptly arrived at the scene and, after securing the area, shifted the injured to the Sibi district hospital.

“The tractor was badly damaged in the blast,” pol­ice said.
