LAHORE: Defending champions Sri Lanka and Bangladesh arrived here on Friday to play their Asia Cup matches against Afghanistan, who landed in the country earlier this week.

The three sides make up the tournament’s Group ‘B’, in the first match of which Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh in Pallekele on Thursday.

Bangladesh will look to keep their prospects alive in the event when they take on Afghanistan at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Sunday. The Sri Lankans, meanwhile, will play the Afghans on Tuesday at the iconic venue.

Apart from the tournament opener between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan and a Super 4 match on Sept. 6, the aforementioned fixtures were the only ones scheduled to played in Pakistan.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh held practice sessions at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday night while Sri Lanka trained at the LCCA ground.
