OKARA: Police claim to have recovered a married woman from Khairpur, Sindh, some three and a half months after her abduction from Okara bypass by unidentified men.

As per police, two months back an elderly woman, Sakina Bibi, of 36-37/2RA village, had lodged a report with Police Tahaffuz Markaz (PTM) at the district police office, saying her married daughter Rukhsana had been missing for six weeks and was currently detained at a house in Khairpur in Sindh.

She said her daughter had discreetly used her abductor’s phone to inform about her presence in Khairpur.

The police using advanced technology traced the location of the abductor’s mobile phone and with the cooperation of Sindh police raided a house in Khairpur, recovering the woman.

After completion of legal proceedings, the police brought the abductee to Okara and recorded her statement in the court of a judicial magistrate.

Later, a case was registered by Okara Sadar police against the unidentified suspects who allegedly abducted the married woman when she was waiting for a bus on the GT Road near bypass to reach her parents’ village.

It was further said in FIR that her abductors later sold her for Rs0.45 million to a man.

The police were looking for the abductors.
