SWABI: Body of a 38-year-old woman was found near Kund Park here on Monday, the police said.

SHO Tordher police station Altaf Khan said they were informed by locals that body of an unidentified woman was lying in a deserted place near the Kund Park. He said the police collected the body and shifted it to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Chota Lahor, for postmortem.

“The woman was killed somewhere else and her body was dumped into a ditch in a deserted area,” SHO Altaf said.

He said the deceased hailed from Jehangira city. He said the police had booked four accused on the complaint of a brother of the deceased. He said the suspected killers belonged to Nowshera.

SHO Altaf said the complainant told them that his sister was killed by the four men, also his relatives, over a dispute on her marriage.

Meanwhile, the police arrested drug dealers, including Syed Anwar, Ijaz Ali, Mohammad Fayaz, Alizai Khan and Amir Hayat in Topi city, and recovered 1.2 kilogrammes of ice drug and a pistol from them. The police registered cases against them.

MORNING ASSEMBLY: Majority of public sector schools here in Swabi have not yet started the morning assembly despite reopening on Friday after the summer vacation.

It was learnt on Monday that the morning assembly was not likely to be held anytime soon because grass grown in the grounds was yet to be removed, which was usually done during the summer vacation.

A school head said holding morning assembly was a must to ensure students reached school on time.

Meanwhile, Chota Lahor tehsil mayor expressed concern over the poor result of public sector schools, and stressed that teachers, parents and local government representatives should put their heads together to achieve the desired results.

“We can achieve good results with collective efforts while motivating students to work hard,” he said.
