KOHAT: Deputy commissioner Dr Azamatullah Wazir on Monday ordered immediate repair of a damaged water pipeline in Bilitang area after people complained that they were getting sewage-mixed water.

He sent a team led by additional deputy commissioner Shehyar Qamar to the area to fix the leaking pipeline.

Mr Qamar checked the pipeline and directed the executive engineer of the public health engineering department to lay fresh pipes where they were damaged to avoid mixing of sewage with water.

Meanwhile, DC Azamatullah Wazir imposed the Section 144 on Monday, banning the entry of Afghans into the mourners’ processions, their routes and bazaars on Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) on Sept 7 (Thursday).

He also banned firing in the air, carrying of petrol in small containers, firecrackers, gathering of more than five people, use of loudspeakers other than Azan and sermons by Shia community members.

He said the steps had been taken for the security and safety of the lives of people their properties.
