KARACHI: Two police officers were injured when the roof of a building housing an office of the Anti-Vehicles Lifting Cell (AVLC) collapsed on Monday.

SSP-South Sheraz Nazir said the AVLC SSP Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi and DSP Kanbu Khan Marri were seated in their office when plaster of the ceiling fell on them. They suffered injuries and were taken to the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) for treatment, where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

Talking to the media, DIG-CIA Sharjeel Kharal said it was just an accident.

Karachi police chief Javed Alam Odho, along with other senior officers, visited the AKUH and inquired after their health.
