TAXILA: The wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, met her husband on Tuesday at the Attock jail, while the legal team of Mr Khan was again denied access.

Sources said that one-to-one meeting between Mr Khan and Bushra Bibi took place in the room of the deputy superintendent of police and it lasted over one hour.

It was Bushra Bibi’s fifth meeting with her husband in the Attock jail after the PTI chairman was sentenced to three years in prison.

The sources said Bushra Bibi, along with the lawyers’ team of the PTI chairman reached the Attock jail to meet Mr Khan, but they were all stopped by the police for some time.

After approval from jail authorities, only Bushra Bibi was allowed to meet the former prime minister. However, her cellphone was taken into official custody before the meeting.

Speaking to the media outside the Attock jail, a member of PTI legal team, Advocate Umeer Niazi, said that Bushra Bibi has filed a petition before the Lahore High Court to prevent her possible arrest.

He said that in the petition, Bushra Bibi has pleaded that she is the wife of the former prime minister and that her husband is the target of the political victimisation.

She pleaded that institutions like the NAB, FIA, Punjab police and other agencies have filed baseless cases against her.

She claim that after her husband, now she is being politically victimised.
