GWADAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police has registered FIR against 13 people who attended the funeral of a female suicide bomber.

On June 24, Summayia Qalandrani carried out a suicide bombing in front of the Commissioner’s Office, targeting a security convoy passing through the area.

After four days, the police, with the involvement of a magistrate, handed over Ms Qalandrani’s remains to the local community for burial. She was interred in the Dashti Bazaar Turbat graveyard without the participation of her family.

A total of 13 individuals, including Turbat civil society activist Gulzar Dost, Maulana Khalid Walid Safi, Haji Qadeer Ahmed, Ghulam Dostian, Ghulam Azam Dashti and Jameel Ahmed, participated in the funeral ceremony with the approval of the police and local judiciary. Officials have reported that the CTD has accused them of promoting terrorism and attempting to draw the youth of the area towards suicide attacks.
