SUKKUR: A woman was killed while a police official sustained severe wounds during an operation launched against dacoits in katcha area of Ghelpur in Kandhkot-Kashmore district.

When Kashmore police began the action in the riverine areas, the outlaws used heavy weapons, including rocket launchers, against the force.

The injured police official was identified as Naik Mohammad Brohi while the woman was a passerby whose identity could not be ascertained.

Police officials said they had to call additional force to retaliate the the dacoits’ attack.

They said the operation was going on for the safe recovery of hostages, including Sagar Kumar.

The wounded police official was transported to Rahimyar Khan hospital due to his precarious condition while the woman’s body was shifted to Kandhkot hospital for post-mortem.
