MIRPURKHAS: Activists of nationalist parties held a demonstration here on Wednesday in protest against growing lawlessness and police failure to recover hostages, including women, from the clutches of dacoits.

They urged the government to launch a massive operation against dacoits, particularly in upper Sindh.

Scores of office-bearers and workers of the Sindh United Party, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Qaumi Awami Tehreek and others in the lead of Anwer Nohani, Shoukat Nohani, Majeed Bughio, Manzoor Memon raised slogans against the caretaker government.

Carrying banners and placards, they were demanding higher authorities ensure safe recovery of the kidnapped persons, elimination of feudal system, end to lawlessness and operation against the dacoits. In Digri, the Qaumi Awami Tehreek held a similar demonstration outside the press club.
