KARACHI: Newly appointed Karachi police chief Additional Inspector General Khadim Hussain Rind on Wednesday assumed his new responsibility after the Sindh government issued notifications regarding a massive reshuffle in the police department late on Tuesday night.

Mr Rind was welcomed by the outgoing city police chief Javed Odho when he arrived at the Karachi Police Office.

A police spokesperson said that the new city police chief had also served with a UN Peace Mission in Kosovo. He completed his LLM in Human Rights from the United Kingdom.

Prior to his new appointment, Mr Rind was serving as the head of the Sindh police’s Special Branch. He was promoted to BS-21 in 2022.
