Dearth of postmen

Published September 8, 2023

I AM a resident of Kagawala village near Peshawar and have been waiting for my employment interview letter for quite some time. Disappointingly, the post office situated on Kohat Road does not have enough resources, such as a postman, to drop the letter off at the intended address. Therefore, I have to visit the post office every day to inquire about my letter and to receive it directly from the post office whenever it arrives.

There have been many incidents in the past where people in Kagawala village either did not receive their post at all, or did not receive it on time and missed important events, meetings and deadlines.

The villages on the Kohat Road, especially Kagawala, Bazidkhel, Badaber and others, do not have a proper courier system. Hence, people have to visit the post office frequently to keep a check on their post.

The authorities concerned should provide adequate staff at the said post office so that people may receive their post on their addresses on time.
