HARIPUR: A married woman was found dead in her house in Hattar village, police said here on Monday.

Hattar police station officials quoted Shehzad Ahmed of Mohallah Sadaat Hattar village as saying that he had gone out of his house, leaving behind his wife, Sidra Shaheen, 23. He said when he returned for lunch he found his wife lying dead in her bedroom.

On his complaint, the police shifted the body to Rural Health Centre, Kotnajibullah, for autopsy.

According to doctors, the woman’s throat was slit with a sharp object.

The police sources said the family had some enmity in the Taxila area of Punjab as a woman had been killed a few days ago. However, they said an investigation was underway to trace the killers.
