SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday distributed land ownership rights to the people affected by an anti-encroachment operation in Sukkur.

Speaking at a programme organised at the Jinnah Municipal Stadium in Sukkur, he said that it was a happy moment because those who were displaced and rendered homeless were being given plots with ownership rights.

He said that the PPP was going to give ownership right to 7,200 affected people. He said that 250 people belonging to the minority communities were also included in the people who got plots.

“This is the party of Bhutto who gave roti, kapra and makan to the people,” he said.

Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, former chief ministers Syed Murad Ali Shah, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sukkur Mayor Barrister Arsalan Shaikh and other senior leaders were also present.

Talking about the next polls, Mr Bhutto-Zardari said that no one can stop the upcoming general elections. “If elections are not held today, they will be held tomorrow...if not in 90 days, the polls will be held in 100 or 120 days,” he added.
