ISLAMABAD: A judicial magistrate of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday handed over the custody of former Member National Assembly (MNA) Ali Wazir to the investigation agency in a case related to disseminating anti-state content on social media.
Wazir was released from Adiala jail on Monday after an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad accepted his bail plea.
He was, however, re-arrested by the FIA in the above mentioned case soon after his release.
The FIA produced him before the judicial magistrate and sought his 10-day physical remand.
The judge granted three days’ remand and directed the investigation agency to produce him before the court on Sept 15.
Pervaiz Elahi’s plea disposed of
Meanwhile, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri of Islamabad High Court (IHC) disposed of a petition filed by former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi seeking to set aside his detention order.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon informed the court that in compliance with the court orders, the detention order against Elahi had been withdrawn.
Justice Jahangiri had suspended the detention order of Elahi last week and ordered his immediate release. The former Punjab chief minister was re-arrested in a case related to the May 9 violence.
