LAHORE: Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered to reopen all the closed commercial theatres throughout the province.

The decision was taken in a meeting headed by the CM.

The chief minister was briefed in the meeting on the amendments made in the 150-year-old 1876 Dramatic Act. The briefing was given by Minister for Culture and Information Amir Mir.

The CM allowed the reopening of commercial theatres with the condition of checks and balances on performances. The CM stressed on promoting art and culture.

The meeting was attended by the Punjab chief secretary, additional chief secretary, information and culture secretary, Lahore commissioner, DIG operations and deputy commissioner.
